The Future Continuous Tense

The future continuous tense, sometimes also referred to as the future progressive tense, is a verb tense that indicates that something will occur in the future and continue for an expected length of time.

Structure: Subject + will be+ Present participle (-ing) form

Here's how to make the positive:

At 10 am tomorrow,
When John gets home,

To make the negative, just add 'not':

Here are the past simple 'yes / no' questions :

When arrives at the party,

To make 'wh' questions with 'be' (the question word just goes at the beginning, everything else is the same):

Next weekend,

Usage:

  1. To express ongoing actions at a specific future time
    • He will be playing football at 10:00 am tomorrow.
  2. To express an action that will definitely happen in the future.
    • He will be attending a webinar next Monday.
  3. Time expression
    • I will be watching TV later this evening.
